Sometimes good movies (or bad ones) make mistakes. Here's a list of some movies that we found that made mistakes with storyline, math, or scenery.

  • Gilligan's Island

    • Notice the car in the top-right cornerGranted, this isn't a movie, but who cares? When the seven castaways first crash on to the island in the pilot episode, you can briefly see a car on the island.

  • One Million BC

    • During this caveman movie (which was made in the 60's, not 1,000,000 BC) has a visible jet stream in the sky during one shot.

    • During a fight in a cave, one caveman is thrown against the wall. The wallof the cave bounces a little bit, a very unusual thing for a cave to do.

  • Sparticus

    • In this movie, hundreds of extras were employed. Some of these extras can be seen wearing watches, highly unusual for Roman citizens to have.

  • Entrapment

    • Gin and Mac (characters in the movie, not a new combo meal at McDonald's) need to slow the clocks of a bank by ten seconds in order to pull off a huge hiest at midnight. They set the clocks to make each minute .1 seconds slow each minute, starting at 11:00PM that night. If you do the math, 60 minutes times .1 seconds, the only end up with 6 seconds. However, in the movie, they sure enough have 10. Goes to show you that those annoying word problems have practical uses.

  • Planet of the Apes

    • In the original, Col. Taylor, Charleton Heston's character, travels to the Planet of the Apes in 3978 AD. However, in Escape from the Planet of the Apes, one ape claims to have witnessed the destruction of the Planet of the Apes in "thirty-nine fifty-something."

    • Some boulders that fall down a mountainside in the opening scenes of Planet of the Apes can be seen bouncing feet off the ground, clearly being made of styrofoam.

  • Space Odyssey: 2001

    • While not technically a mistake, I find it amuzing that Stanley Kuberick took out an insurance claim on his movie in case alien life forms were discovered prior to its release. Fortunatly, the famous movie did well in the box office, unhindered by little green men.

  • Blood Sport

    • At the climax of the movie, Dux (pronounced "Dukes" as in "Put up you Dukes") is in a deadly fight for the Blood Sport Championships. Dux's head and face are covered in sweat. He has a flashback about his training. Then, when he "returns to reality", his face hair and face are completly dry! (must have been a long flashback!)
